Toronto based artist, Tanya Philipovich, creates music that is poetically driven and melodically captivating. Getting her start on the West coast in her band Sneeker, she’s deepened her passion and expanded her reach over time.
Tanya moved across the country playing both solo and with many colourful collaborators. She has created three superb albums.
Her debut solo album, ‘Keep On It’ (2006), has been enjoyed by loyal fans in Toronto, Montreal, New York and Vancouver. It was recorded with double bassist Drew Birston (Chantal Kreviazuk, Wild Strawberries) and produced by Brent Bodrug and B Group Music.
On Tanya’s sophomore album titled ‘Secret Fiction Romance’ (2009), was released on Doin’ Time Records. It was recorded and produced by guitar man Dan Walsh ( Fred Eaglesmith, Willie P. Bennett, Corb Lund) at his Cozy Little Shack On Lake Erie Studio. She was recognized as Socan’s songwriter of the month for her song, Holy Tomato.
Her latest, ’Paper Boat', coming out on Busted Flat Records, is set to drop on June 2nd at 3030 in Toronto's trendy Junction area, for which the songwriter calls home. 'Paper Boat' was produced and engineered by Aaron ‘Kid’ Comeau (Serena Ryder, Sam Cash & The Romantic Dogs), on guitar and keys, and Jake Hoag, on percussion, at the Trailer in the city’s east end.
